Aqua Expeditions has announced the deployment of its sixth vessel, Aqua Lares, set to debut in February 2026. The 77.4-meter yacht will offer luxury small-ship expeditions in East Africa, specifically in the Seychelles.

Launched in 1980 as an ice-strengthened research vessel, the ship has undergone extensive refurbishment and modernisation, and most recently operated as Legend and as Dimant and Gigant prior to that.

Key Features of Aqua Lares:

The vessel will have 15 suites, ranging from 13 to 66 square meters, including three Owner's Suites. Aqua Lares will carry a maximum of 30 guests and feature a crew of 33, including three naturalist guides. The ship will be equipped with five private tenders, paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling and diving gear, and mountain bikes.

Onboard Amenities:

Aqua Lares will feature several social spaces, including a panoramic sun deck with a bar and lounge, a cinema, boutique, gym, saloon, indoor dining room, and a shaded outdoor dining area. Wellness offerings will include two Jacuzzis, a sauna, massage room, and spa.

Operations:

Aqua Lares will offer expert-led excursions in small groups, with a focus on immersive voyages, cultural discovery, and sustainable tourism. The vessel is being designed with luxurious elegance and a strong sense of place, creating a refined sanctuary at sea.

Aqua Lares will sail the Seychelles, Aldabra Atoll, Zanzibar, and Tanzania annually from November to April. Offline bookings are open for 2026 and 2027, with inaugural sailings beginning February 8, 2026. Online bookings open September 1.
