Former Silversea Explorer for sale following collapse of cruise line

Currently known as Exploris One (IMO 8806747), the former Silver Explorer is in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, and was acquired by Exploris in late 2021 from Silversea, which leased it back for two more years.

Exploris, the company, was launched in 2022 by Philippe Videau, a co-founder of Ponant in 1988. Following the failure of recovery plans, the French expedition cruise company was put into liquidation by the Nantes commercial court. Exploris One, the line's sole ship, is to be sold.

All 2026 and 2027 itineraries are cancelled and Exploris' offices will close this Friday, November 7, 2025.
