Silversea Cruises has just announced its eighth vessel, an additional expedition ship which will sail in "even more remote and stunning destinations" from 2014 - including several departures from Australian ports.

Dubbed Silver Discoverer, the new vessel will enter service with Silversea on 01 March 2014 after undergoing a major refurbishment. The ship will have capacity for up to 128 passengers and onboard facilities will include twelve Zodiac excursion boats and a glass-bottomed boat.

Silver Discoverer's 2014 voyages, which have just opened for sale, including 11 day Kimberley itineraries, cruises to "Wild Siberia," a 17-day Indonesian trip and a cruise ex Cairns to Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia.

Silversea ceo Enzo Visone said "it's fitting that, in our 20th anniversary year, our newest ship will continue the Silversea tradition of reaching some of the most remote areas of the world".
