The new 130-guest riverboat will sail in France alongside ms Lumière, doubling Tauck’s Rhône capacity as part of a wider fleet expansion through 2028.
Tauck will add a new riverboat, ms Harmonie, to its French fleet in 2028, expanding capacity on the Rhône as part of a multi-year investment in river cruises.
The vessel will be a sister ship to ms Lumière, which debuted in 2026, and will carry no more than 130 guests. Tauck said the ship’s design was shaped partly by feedback from its river cruise guests.
“River cruising continues to be one of the most popular ways guests first experience Tauck, and the feedback our river guests have shared over the years shape every ship we build,” said Jennifer Tombaugh, CEO of Tauck.
“The name Harmonie, which carries the same meaning in French and English, speaks to what we hope guests feel on board and along the river: a sense of balance, ease and connection to the places we explore.”
Built for Rhône cruising, ms Harmonie will share the same deck plan and key features as ms Lumière. Facilities will include a Sun Deck with swimming pool, full-service bar and shaded day beds, plus an expanded wellness area called The Retreat with a fitness centre, massage room and lounge.
The ship will also include Arthur’s, a casual dining venue with panoramic views, skylit atriums, lounges and 300-square-foot Tauck Suites.
The launch forms part of Tauck’s broader river fleet renewal. Between 2026 and 2028, the company is introducing five new riverboats: ms Lumière and ms Serene in 2026, ms Reverie and ms Saudade in 2027, and ms Harmonie in 2028. Two older vessels will be retired during the program.
Tauck said its total river cruise capacity will increase by more than 50 per cent by 2028. The expansion will also include more shoulder-season departures, a new six-day cruise format and additional destinations.
The company said the Rhône is one of its strongest-performing river destinations, with demand pacing nearly 30 per cent ahead of 2025. The addition of ms Harmonie will double Tauck’s capacity on the river.
The vessel will operate itineraries including Savouring France: Paris, Lyon & Provence, with further 2028 programs to be announced.
Tauck river cruise fares include shore excursions, gratuities, onboard beverages, airport transfers, luggage handling, taxes and fees.
Guests can reserve 2028 departures now. Tauck said deposits will be fully refundable once final pricing and itinerary details are released later this year.
