AmaWaterways will debut AmaNubia on Egypt’s Nile River in November 2026, joining AmaLilia and the redesigned AmaDahlia as the company expands its luxury river cruise program in Egypt.
AmaWaterways has released details of AmaNubia, a new luxury river ship scheduled to enter service on the Nile River in November 2026.
The 76-guest vessel will join AmaLilia and the reimagined AmaDahlia, which is due to debut in its updated form in September 2026. A fourth ship, AmaCleo, is scheduled to join the Nile fleet in the second half of 2027.
AmaWaterways said the expansion reflects rising demand for luxury travel to Egypt and continued interest in Nile river cruising.
“Egypt is unlike anywhere else,” said Catherine Powell, CEO of AmaWaterways. “The Nile is one of the most beautiful rivers on earth, and sailing down it feels like travelling through time.”
AmaNubia will carry 38 staterooms, including 15 suites. The ship is described as a half-sister to AmaLilia and will include locally inspired cuisine, Middle Eastern flavours, a wellness area with spa services, a fitness centre and public spaces designed for relaxation between excursions.
The interiors will draw on ancient Egyptian design, Nubian culture, carved stone, Nile landscapes and regional colours and textures.
Each sailing will be accompanied by Egyptologists, who will provide lectures, guided touring and historical interpretation throughout the itinerary.
AmaNubia will operate AmaWaterways’ Secrets of Egypt & the Nile program, which combines a Nile cruise with hotel stays in Cairo.
The itinerary includes the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Horus at Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan. It also includes a private visit to Abdeen Palace in Cairo.
AmaWaterways said guests on AmaNubia will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence. AmaLilia guests stay at The St. Regis Cairo, while AmaDahlia guests stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Cairo.
Optional experiences include Abu Simbel and high tea at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan. Land extensions are available in Alexandria, Jordan and Dubai.
