Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will operate ten expedition voyages in the Indian Ocean between October 2027 and March 2028 aboard HANSEATIC nature, focusing on the Seychelles and Madagascar.
The itineraries are designed around small-ship expedition travel supported by specialist guides and educational programming on regional ecosystems and cultures.
Each voyage will include an expedition team of up to 16 specialists, including marine biologists, geologists, botanists and ethnologists. Daily briefings, lectures and guided shore landings will accompany Zodiac excursions.
Planned visits include the UNESCO-listed Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles, known for its population of giant tortoises, and Madagascar’s eastern and northern coasts, which host a range of endemic wildlife including lemurs, chameleons and native plant species.
