Swan Hellenic will operate 10 cultural expedition cruises across New Zealand, the South Pacific, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan and South Korea in 2027, supported by a time-limited balcony and Wi-Fi upgrade offer.
Swan Hellenic has expanded its 2027 Asia-Pacific program from five to 10 cultural expedition voyages following strong demand for its inaugural season in the region.
The program will run from March 8 to October 12, 2027, aboard the 152-guest SH Minerva, with itineraries covering New Zealand, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Raja Ampat, the Philippines, Japan and South Korea.
The company has also launched an Asia Unlocked promotion offering a complimentary upgrade to a balcony stateroom and Gold Wi-Fi on new bookings made by November 9, 2026.
The expanded schedule introduces two New Zealand voyages at the start of the season and a broader Japan program at the end, including two new itineraries calling at Busan, South Korea. Voyages are designed to be combined into longer Grand Voyages.
The program focuses on three themes: regional cultures, natural history and Second World War heritage.
Highlights include New Zealand’s fjords, Māori culture and film locations; World War II sites in the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea; whale shark encounters in Cenderawasih Bay; marine biodiversity and island communities in Raja Ampat; and heritage destinations in the Philippines, Japan and South Korea.
The 10 voyages range from 10 to 13 nights, with fares starting from USD 9,100 per person.
Key departures include:
- New Zealand in Depth, Dunedin to Auckland, March 8-21, from USD 11,650
- Cruising the Pacific Islands, Auckland to Honiara, March 21-April 3, from USD 11,650
- Solomon Islands Secrets, Honiara to Sorong, April 3-16, from USD 11,825
- Raja Ampat & Cenderawasih Bay Expedition, Sorong roundtrip, April 16-26, from USD 9,100
- Paradise Passage from the Philippines to Raja Ampat, Manila to Sorong, May 7-18, from USD 10,000

- Pearls of the Pacific, Manila to Hiroshima, June 9-19, from USD 11,000
- Japan and Korea Cruise, Hiroshima to Otaru, June 19-30, from USD 12,125

Swan Hellenic Chief Commercial Officer Mario Bounas said the expanded program reflected stronger-than-expected demand.
“We’re proud to be more than doubling the number of our cultural expedition voyages in the Asia-Pacific for 2027,” Bounas said.
He said the company had worked with regional experts to broaden the program and add New Zealand, more of Japan and new South Korea calls.
SH Minerva will operate all sailings, offering expedition facilities, expert-led enrichment, panoramic public spaces and gourmet dining.
