Cruise North Expeditions Releases 2011-2012 Brochure

Clipper Adventurer

For 2011 we still have a few spaces left on our Baffin and Greenland Adventure, running September 12 – 24 aboard the 81-passenger Ocean Nova.

In 2012 we have two fantastic 10-night programs that combine the best of Greenland and Nunavut starting the end of July. What an amazing time to be in the North!

We’re also thrilled to announce our new platform, the Clipper Adventurer. This ship is both elegant and comfortable, with recently renovated rooms and common areas.
Dining on the Clipper is also top-notch and includes cooked to order meals at breakfast and lunch as well as five course dinners. She’s equipped with state-of-the-art active stabilization, to help smooth the ride in rough seas.

Baffin and Greenland Adventure
September 12 – 24, 2011 aboard the Ocean Nova
Join us as we are welcomed into the land of the Inuit. Our life in the North is shaped from start to finish by the harsh climate and the unforgiving Arctic landscape.

This itinerary has been specifically chosen to highlight the best of Inuit art and culture in Nunavut, but also to provide us with the opportunity to compare and contrast Greenlandic communities with the Canadian territory of Nunavut. Our guests will be able to engage in onboard forums focusing on the many challenges that face the North.

Community highlights include the Greenlandic capital of Nuuk, and Pangnirtung, Kimmirut and Kinngait (Cape Dorset) on Baffin Island.

The arts of the Inuit have informed southern audiences for the last 60 years with visual imagery that has fired our imaginations. Even the best sculpture, prints, drawing and weavings can only give us a glimpse into this spectacular landscape and culture. We now have the privilege of experiencing their reality first hand.
