Lindblad Expeditions Offers Baja California Photo Expedition

62-passenger National Geographic Sea Bird
Lindblad Expeditions unveiled a new program called Baja California Odyssey: San Ignacio Lagoon and the Sea of Cortez, which is a photo expedition into the Sea of Cortez, one of the best places for observing marine mammals in the world. The 11-day/10-night expedition aboard the 62-passenger National Geographic Sea Bird departs Jan. 11, 2012, from La Paz.

Joining Lindblad’s six-person expedition team for the one-of-a-kind journey will be National Geographic photographer Susan Seubert, a recipient of Life Magazine’s Alfred Eisenstaedt Award, editorial photographer and photojournalist, along with two Lindblad-National Geographic-certified photo instructors. They will assist guests in shooting wildlife photos while on trips by Zodiac or kayak, or walks.

The program is designed for photographers of all skill and interest levels who are interested in improving their skills and having opportunities to shoot in the wild and participate in photography discussions, presentations and mini workshops. Whether it’s aboard the ship, exploring ashore or simply chatting over drinks, the photographers and expedition team will always be available for assistance. Rates begin at $6,990 per person double occupancy.

Lindblad is also offering two additional itineraries in Baja California. Among The Great Whales provides opportunities for close encounters with whales, with departures from January to March 2012. Journeys in the Sea of Cortez offers guests the chance to experience an exploration of the marine and desert life of Baja California. Departures are Dec. 26, 2011, and Jan 2 and Dec. 15, 22 and 29, 2012. For more information, call 800-EXPEDITION or visit www.expeditions.com.
