#expeditioncruising .

Celebrate the most incredible New Year’s Eve on a unique Murray Princess cruise that only departs once every two years and offers a rare and fascinating itinerary. Departing Mannum on Friday 27 December 2019, the seven-night Renmark New Year’s Eve cruise follows in the footsteps of the great 19th Century pioneers and is filled with exciting new experiences.

Combining the Mannum to Renmark cruise with New Year’s Eve promises a fun-filled adventure. Not only will guests enjoy a spectacular New Year’s Eve a la carte dinner, festivities and dancing, but explore 420kms of the Murray River, her incredible terrain, towering limestone cliffs and discover destinations only visited every couple of years.

For a taste of history visit the quaint towns of Kingston-on-Murray, Loxton and Waikerie. At Kingston-on-Murray see the Cobdogla Irrigation and Steam Museum - home to the world’s only working Humphrey Pump.

At Loxton visit the Kaesler’s Landing Museum and step back in time at ‘The Village’ to discover the stories of the region’s early settlers displayed in over 45 recreated buildings and exhibits along the banks of the Murray River.

At Waikerie explore the township, which was established in 1894, and pay a visit to the Waikerie Machinery Preservation Museum.

Food and wine lovers will enjoy cellar door tastings and a tour of the gardens and orchards at picturesque Caudo Vineyard. Onboard sample the delicious local produce and wines from the Murray and Riverland regions at a food and wine tasting in the Sturt Dining Room.

Along the river learn about Aboriginal history dating back tens of thousands of years at the fascinating Ngaut Nguat Aboriginal Reserve.

At Sunnydale experience a typical Australian woolshed show, followed by a Native Wildlife Shelter where some of South Australia’s most interesting animals are cared for. Then enjoy an Aussie barbeque on the banks of the Murray River.

Bird watchers will love the abundance of Australian birds and can get up close to the river, its 20-million-year-old cliffs and amazing plant and birdlife on the ‘Dragon-Fly’ Flat Bottomed Boat vessel.

The Renmark cruise also offer guests the ultimate experience of navigating through five locks - Lock #1 at Blanchetown, Lock #2 at Waikerie, Lock #3 at Overland Corner, Lock #4 at Bookpurnong and Lock #5 at Renmark.

On-board, sit back on the Murray Princess’s open top deck or in the air-conditioned paddlewheel lounge and watch the working paddle wheel through a two-story glass window. Join the Captain for a general inspection of the wheelhouse, participate in a lively trivia quiz, play some bocce on the riverbank or relax with some fishing off the ship.

Food is another highlight of the cruise. Indulge in a hearty hot buffet breakfast each morning, a delicious two-course or buffet lunch each day and a three-course or buffet dinner each evening. There’s also a spectacular farewell Captain’s Buffet Dinner and Dance.
